This practical two-hour online workshop is designed for lawyers of up to seven years’ qualification, as well as those returning to practice.
It offers a valuable opportunity to test your advocacy in a supportive setting, refine your technique, and receive constructive feedback. The session will be led by special guest presenter Daniel Benjamin, District Judge and Crown Court Recorder.

Advocacy exercises
The workshop uses criminal case materials, but the skills explored are transferable across practice areas.
You will choose one exercise to prepare:
bail application
hearsay application
application to stay proceedings or exclude evidence
plea in mitigation
Prefer to observe?
You are very welcome to attend as an observer. Observing is not a passive experience. It is an excellent way to learn from others, hear detailed feedback, and reflect on how you would have approached the exercise yourself.
